The Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City is delighted to welcome Peter Hofherr, Chairman and CEO, St. James Winery and Chairman of the Missouri Wine & Grape Board to the December 10 luncheon and annual meeting at Lidia's Kansas City.
The Hofherr family opened St. James Winery in 1970, with an original production of 8,000 gallons. This offering included the now familiar Velvet Red, Velvet White, and Pink Catawba. Velvet Red is still their best seller. The winery remains a family company.
Peter has an undergraduate degree from Auburn University, an MBA from Georgia State University and a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri. He previously served as both deputy director and director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture, and chief of staff for the Missouri Governor.
