Agriculture’s legacy has been to nourish the nation and to lay the economic foundation and prosperity of urban communities.
That is certainly true for the Heartland where agriculture, ranching, feed grain and food processing, transportation, energy, fuel, commodity marketing, education, research and animal health and welfare continue to forge some of the region’s most dynamic and growing industries.
On May 22, 2009, for the first time ever, The Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City will honor some of the region’s most enterprising business leaders with its two legacy awards of distinction – the “Outstanding Volunteer of the Year” and the “Jay B. Dillingham Award for Agricultural Leadership and Excellence.” Honorees include Gina Bowman as Outstanding Volunteer of the Year and R. Crosby Kemper, Jr.; Joerg Ohle and Morton Sosland as recipients for the Jay B. Dillingham Award.
