We are pleased to have two top leaders from the wheat industry scheduled to address the Council’s October 15 luncheon meeting at the American Royal.  Daren Coppock, CEO, National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) and Justin Gilpin, CEO, Kansas Wheat, will be our featured speakers.

The luncheon topic is:  “The Wheat Conundrum:  Addressing the Challenges Facing Wheat Growers.”  Our speakers will discuss industry efforts to stem the steady loss of wheat acreage to other crops which offer a more profitable alternative to growers.

Kansas, historically the national leader in wheat production, is at the forefront of new research and commercialization initiatives.

In addition, NAWG has initiatives underway toward the goal of increasing the national average wheat yield by 20 percent from 2008 to 2018 through work on both biotechnology and non-biotechnology efforts.

The wheat industry has been central to the success of the nation’s heartland.  Make your reservations today to learn about the latest developments.
